8. I am a new runner and this will be my first race. Am I too slow for this race?
Absolutely not! Road racing is the only sport where everyone and anyone can participate in the same event and cross the same start line and finish line as the fastest runners in the world. It is one of the unique things that makes the sport of road racing so special. The
Boston Scientific Heart of Summer is for everyone,
with the goal to improve health and increase
awareness to the risks of heart disease

14. Can I wear headphones during the race?
Because of safety concerns, we do not
permit headphones while on the Boston Scientific Heart of Summer 5K or 10K courses. A runner with a hearing reduction caused by headphones will not respond as quickly to officials, course marshals, other runners or volunteers. Most authoritative governing bodies, including ours, have this rule as it helps reduce or eliminate potential accidents.
