*In order to run the Elite Women's 10K, you must be an invited female runner or have a scored 10K time of 40:00 or better. If you have run and placed in the Heart of Summer 10K the previous year, you will receive either a complimentary entry for your placement or a seeded number invitation. For all elite athlete entry questions, please contact the race director, Kris DeVries, at race.director@charter.net.

All race entrants will receive a
technical t-shirt, race packet and post-race snacks and beverages.


10K Information (both races)

Reminder: There will be no race day registration for the 10K events.

10K run and walk packets will be available at Race Packet Pickup at Lake Nokomis on Friday, July 25, from 3:00 - 7:00 PM, and Saturday morning at 6:30 AM near the start area.

Course: The 10K course is slightly more than twice around Lake Nokomis. Please see the course map for more details.

10K Age Group Awards
Age Groups: The top three male and female finishers in each: 19 and under; 20-29; 30-39;
40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-plus.

Prize money winners will not be eligible for age group awards.


5K Run and Walk Information

5K run and walk packets will be available at the Race Packet Pickup at Lake Nokomis on Friday, July 25, from 3:00 - 7:00 PM, and Saturday morning at 6:30 AM near the start area.

The 5K run and walk is a noncompetitive event. No times or results will be kept.  However, a time clock will be at the finish line for you to check your finishing time. 

Course: The course is one loop on Nokomis Parkway around Lake Nokomis. Please see the course map for more details.

5K Awards
The top three male and female finishers will receive an award.


CDL Enterprises Kids' One Mile
Fun Run/Walk Information

Saturday at 9:30 AM (after the 5K)

Kids ages 6-13 will complete a 1 mile course. Kids under 6 are permitted to participate if accompanied by a parent while on the course.

All participants receive a t-shirt and medal.

Prizes will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers.


Parking

Nokomis Parkway is the course for all events and will be closed from 7:00 AM until approximately 10:00 AM.  Parking on Nokomis Parkway is not recommended.

Free parking is available for anyone arriving before 7:00 AM.  Use the large parking lot at the Nokomis beach by entering Nokomis Parkway from Cedar Avenue. You will not be permitted to leave until Nokomis Parkway reopens.

If you arrive after 7:00 AM or wish to leave prior to the opening of Nokomis Parkway, you should use off-street parking in the neighborhoods around Lake Nokomis and Minnehaha Parkway.


Corporate Team Challenge

The organization with the largest number of registered participants in all events will be awarded prize money. There will be a special designated corporate team challenge meeting area near the registration and start area. For more information, contact the race director,
